The Time Has Come For Solar and Other Alternative Energy Sources

General Add comments

Ever since the dawn of the Industrial Revolution, the wheels of civlilization have been turned by cheap energy obtained by burning fossil fuels: wood, coal, and petroleum products. Now, as we see the harm these fuels are doing to the enviroment, and as their costs keep rising, the world is turning to alternative forms of energy like solar power, wind power and bio-fuels.

We have known for decades that we were squandering non-renewable sources of energy as well as polluting the delicate atmosphere of our planet with smoke and greenhouse gases. But it is only now that gasoline has risen in price to over four dollars per gallon, jet fuel is so expensive that airlines are going out of business and India is experiencing shortages of diesel fuel are we starting to take alternative energy seriously.

Fortunately for homeowners, the cost of alternative energy technology has come down significantly in recent years. This means that it is now possible for consumers to add solar panels to their homes or even set up wind turbines in their back yards to generate their own power in the form of solar energy or wind energy.

If you would like more information about adding solar energy panels to your roof, erecting a turbine to harness wind energy, or even details about bio-diesel, methanol and other vehicle fuels derived from sustainable crops, check out the Solar Energy Publication News website.
